The Canton Amateur Radio Club will hold two seperate events demonstrating amateur radio to the public over the next few weeks.
The first event is the annual ARRL Field Day, which takes place on the 4th full weekend in June every year. Join us June 22nd and 23rd at the Dearman Family Farm, located at 2345 Baum St SE in Canton. Starting at about 10am Saturday and running continuously through approximately 2pm Sunday, CARC members will be making contacts (QSO’s) with other ham radio operators throughout the United States and some even globally as part of an emergency preparedness communications exercise. See http://arrl.org/field-day for more information. Set-up for Field Day 2019 will take place on Friday, June 21st starting at 4pm. Licensed amateur radio operators can call us on the club repeater, 146.790- PL 141.3 for talk-in, directions, or other information.
Following Field Day, CARC members, in cooperation with the Madge Youtz branch of the Stark County District Library system, will hold a public display of amateur radio. Join us from 1pm to 4pm on Wednesday June 26th at the Madge Youtz branch, located at 2921 Mahoning Rd NE in Canton. CARC members will be demonstrating and explaining what amateur radio is all about.
