The Canton Amateur Radio Club is frequently asked to manage the liquidation of assets from the estates of silent keys. Over the last few years, we have had the honor to manage several.
On Monday, July 7th 2025, volunteers went and processed through a very large collection from the estate of a Canton ARC member. We removed over 250 lots of items, several of them being larger/heavier and/or older gear. We have combined that estate’s items with all of the other remaining items in our inventory. Items for sale come from donated or obsolete Canton ARC items, the estates of WA8TVI, K3DMG, N8DJD, K8ISS, KB8PRK, and other sources.
Canton ARC policies state that all revenue from estate items goes directly back to the widow or family of the silent key. We do not take a percentage or charge a fee for our services, however we typically receive a donation of their choosing after the fact. We do this as a community service to help ease the burden of liquidating niche assets.
Beginning July 17th 2025, we are offering the entire inventory of items for sale to the amateur radio community and to the public in/around north-east Ohio. Below you will find an automatically up-to-date list of what is available, our current asking price and other details on the item.
Due to the storage requirements, we have the privilege of using space provided to Canton ARC at a business in North Canton. Unfortunately, because this is an active business location, all inspections and sales/pickups of items must be in-person by appointment only, or at scheduled “open house” events, the first of which has been set for July 26th from 10am to 2pm. We cannot ship or transport items. We are very grateful to have use of space at Middlebranch Machine, located at 6820 Wise Ave NW in North Canton, Ohio.
Appointments for inspection and/or purchase (starting July 17th 2025) can be scheduled via email request to [email protected] or by calling the club’s voicemail and leaving a message (330) 452-1460. Requests for photos of an item or items can also be made.
As most of the items are from an estate, and we are unfamiliar with the quality or status of a majority of them, our terms must be that ALL items are sold AS-IS, with NO REFUNDS. We have done our best to list condition as we know it, but it is up to you to inspect, test and verify it before purchasing. Additionally, ALL items must be sold on a cash & carry, first come first serve basis. No other forms of payment can be accepted.
